PACKAGE YOUR FLOWERS PROPERLY
We are so excited to receive your bouquet and start working with your flowers. When it comes to shipping flowers, the golden rule is to package them properly! You’ll want to ensure the flowers arrive safely with all of the petals and stems in tact (or else what’s the point?). Please note that we will only accept flowers that are dropped off or shipped within 6 days of your event, but sooner is better. We can also help get a discounted shipping label to get the flowers to us, but we need to know the box dimensions and where the flowers are coming from. Florals press best when fresh and we can only work with the condition of the flowers provided to us. Here is a process to follow when you’re ready to ship:
BOX & PACKAGING
The best way to make sure your flowers arrive safely is to ship them inside a corrugated box, and to use the proper packing material (packing paper, bubble wrap, etc.) inside to help support the stems and flowers. We recommend lightly wrapping the flowers with packing paper, the same way you’ll find flowers wrapped in plastic at your local grocery store.
TRIM THE STEMS IF NEEDED
Some long-stemmed flowers such as roses might not fit into your box, so you may need to cut the stems to make sure the flowers fit. Obviously, do not cut the stems too short, just enough to fit into your box. If possible, be sure to leave at least a couple of inches of room between the petals and the edge of the box. This minimizes the chances of the cardboard rubbing up against the tips of the petals and causing damage.
PREPPING THE BOUQUET
DO NOT include a water container in your shipment. Wrap the stems of the bouquet in a damp paper towel. Place the wrapped stems of the bouquet into a Ziploc back or saran-wrap to prevent leaking on the petals. This is very important to keep your flowers fresh without making the actual flowers wet, which can cause molding. Use rubber bands or hair-ties around the middle of the stems to secure the bag & paper towels if needed. This also prevents the individual flowers from shifting around during transit and keeps the arrangement intact.
PREPPING THE BOUQUET
We strongly encourage our customers to ship their flowers through UPS or Fedex to ensure fast, reliable delivery. Since we have a farm and a long driveway, we have found that USPS will not deliver certain packages in our area and we want to ensure that your flowers get to our doorstep as quickly as possible. As a small business, we receive business shipping rates. If you would like our assistance receiving a discounted shipping label, please reach out at least a week prior to your event date. Please do not require a signature upon delivery as this could also cause delays.
